A permanent exhibition of the photographs of Transylvanian Jews killed in Nazi death camps will be established in Cluj, the local Jewish community council decided today.

The decision was taken after a number of photographs of the victims were discovered in the town tax collector’s office. The Jews were photographed when they reported to surrender their possessions prior to deportation. Other pictures will be obtained from private sources.

A Jewish symphony orchestra has been organized in the city of Timisoara, capital of Banate province. Its first concert featured works of Beethoven and Mendelssohn.
