The discovery of phosphates for fertilizer “somewhere in the Negev” was reported today in Davar, pro-government daily newspaper.
The report said that chemical analysis of the deposits show that they are equal in quality to foreign phosphates. The discovery will save millions of dollars a year for the Israel Government and will permit the fertilization of large areas of land, the report emphasizes.
