So many thousands of Jews have made pilgrimages to the Tomb of Rachel, on the road between Hebron and Jerusalem, this month so far, that the total for September is expected to reach more than 15,000. Despite the fact that only one Jewish and one Arab policeman are on duty the Jewish pilgrims have been completely free from any molestation.

This shrine is considered by archeologists as one of the few genuine ancient sites in Palestine.
