The Hebrew University presidential election deadlock was broken today when the Board of Governors of the university decided in principle that the offices of president and rector should be separated.
Former Minister of Justice Pinhas Rosen was expected to be elected president of the university tonight when the four-day meeting of the Board of Governors was scheduled to conclude. It was also assumed that Judge Louis Levinthal of Philadelphia would be the new chairman of the Board. The nominations committee will meet tonight under the chairmanship of Daniel Ross, of New York
