The administration of Palestine under him will be conducted in accordance with the spirit and the letter of the Palestine Mandate. Sir John Chancellor, new High Commissioner of Palestine, promised a deputation of the English Zionist Federation which he received today.
The deputation conveyed to Sir John the congratulations of English Zionists on his appointment and acquainted him with their views on a number of important problems concerning the administration of Palestine and the Zionist work there.
The new High Commissioner promised to give sympathetic consideration to the representations made and expressed his hope that the work he was privileged to undertake would help the Jewish Agency realize the great ideal to which the Zionists have dedicated themselves.
