Anti-Jewish disturbances were reported here from Glogau, Silesia, where a new railway terminal was opened yesterday.
Crowds attending the formal opening of the station noticed an advertisement of a Jewish firm among other advertisements displayed at the terminal. This was sufficient to cause the outbreak of a spontaneous anti-Jewish demonstration necessitating intervention of the police.
Order was established when the advertisement of the Jewish firm was replaced by a poster of a German concern.
HAMBURG CLUB CLOSED
The Citizens’ Club of Hamburg, which has been in existence for many years, was closed down yesterday by the authorities because the majority of its members are Jews.
“A Jew who is a member of the Citizens’ Club continues to look upon himself as a German citizen. The Jews, however, can never be considered citizens of Germany, as they are not of German blood. The Citizens’ Club must therefore be liquidated,” the local Nazi press points out in announcing closing of the club.
AIDED PORT DEVELOPMENT
The Citizens’ Club of Hamburg has been responsible for sponsoring many municipal enterprises in that city and for developing the city as a port. The majority of its members were Jews prominent in commerce before the Nazis came into power. Members of the Nazi Party left the club when they found themselves unable to control its administration.
An official statement issued today by the Press Office of the headquarters of the Nazi Party declares that cooperation with the Catholic Association in Bavaria is impossible, just as it would be impossible to cooperate with the Jews. The statement says that the Nazi Party
