The policy committee of the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany has been summoned by Dr. Nahum Goldman, presiding officer of the Conference, to meet in London on July 2. The policy committee, which is composed of representatives of the 23 organizations affiliated with the Conference, will review the progress made in the negotiations with Germany for settlement of its material claims.

Solution of Israel’s restitution claims against Germany is “closer now than at any previous time.” Jacob Blaustein, president of the American Jewish Committee, said here tonight prior to his departure for Paris for sessions of the presidium of the Conference. He said the Conference was resuming negotiations for satisfaction of Jewish non-Israeli claims “and it is hoped that a firm offer to satisfy these will shortly be forthcoming.”
