The Central Jewish Committee of Poland today announced the launching of a drive to collect blood plasma for the Israeli Army. In operation with TOZ, Polish affiliate of the OSE, the Committee has arranged for Jaws in cities throughout the country to donate blood in Polish Red Cross centers which in turn will process the donations for immediate air shipment to the Jewish state.

Meanwhile, in Wlabzic, in Lower Silesia, a Jewish hospital named for the late Joint Distribution Committee official David Guzik, who was killed in an air crash in Prague two years ago, was opened today. The hospital has 150 beds and is equipped to handle complex surgical as well as medical cases. A school for nurses has also been set up in conjunction with the hospital.
