Pope Benedict XVI said resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is key to world peace. In a traditional new year address Monday, Benedict told diplomats to the Vatican that the Holy Land is a “nerve point of the whole scene” and called for Israelis and Palestinians to end violence and seek mutual recognition.
