Portland Gives to Exiles’ Fund

Portland Jews have contibuted $5,500 in the drive for the settlement of German Jewish refugees in Palestine, it was announced at a banquet which closed the campaign. Governor Julius Meier o Oregon was toastmaster at the banquet.

Rabbi Solomon Goldman, touring the country in the interests of the Zionist Organization of America, was the principal speaker at the banquet. “Jewish conditions cry for constructive statesmanship, not for philanthropy,” Rabbi Goldman declared. “German Jews must not only be fed, their morale must be restored. They neet an atmoshere that will give them the feeling of at homeness that Palestine alone offers,” he stated.

JUDGE ROSALSKY TO SPEAK AT ANTI-NAZI RALLY SUNDAY

Pictures of scenes of attack and brutality in various German towns will be shown at a mass meeting under the auspices of the Anti-Nazi League and the Grand Street Boy’s Association at the latter’s club house next Sunday evening.

Among the speakers will be Judge Otto A. Rosasky, Janes E. Beck, former United States Attorney General, and Frank B. Walsh. The meeting is part of a city-wide drive to intensify the anti-German boycott.
