Violent fighting will climax the explosive Syrian situation within the next few months, even weeks, Fletcher Pratt, military expert, predicted in the New York Post today.

The Arab-Jewish differences and wartime developments, including intensified Italian efforts to stir up the Arabs, have contributed to the present situation, the writer said.

Pratt expressed the belief that the food situation in Syria must be acute. This threatens to provoke grave unrest among the tens of thousands of troops still stationed in the French-mandated territory, he said.
