Premier of Communist China Pledges Aid to Syria Against Israel

Communist Chinese Premier Chou En Lai headed home today from Damascus, Syria, after voicing agreement on Syria’s anti-Israel policies. A Syrian Government spokesman said that the Chinese leader pledged to Syrian President A. Hafez “firm support” against Israel.

Premier Chou was reported as stating that China rejected repeated Israeli offers of friendship and that he looks upon Israel as “a government created by imperialism which cannot be considered a state.”
