President Anwar Sadat of Egypt said that there were “many secret facts” in Egypt’s relations with the United States “which indicate beyond doubt that there is a basic change in American policy toward peace and the establishment of a balanced relationship” between the Arabs and Israel. He added that the U.S. Is now searching for peace and a peaceful settlement of the Mideast crisis “where as in the past the United States was completely biased in favor of Israel.”
