President Bush and Ehud Olmert agreed that a negotiated settlement with the Palestinians is preferable to an Israeli unilateral withdrawal from the West Bank. “He’s going to exhaust all options to negotiate,” Bush said of the Israeli prime minister after their meeting Tuesday at the White House. On the other hand, Bush said, if Olmert can’t find a negotiating partner, Olmert wants to pursue other options to move the peace process forward.
