President Bush telephoned the leaders of Israel and the Palestinian Authority and urged them to reach a cease-fire and resume negotiations, according to a U.S. official. Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafat agreed to try to find a framework to resume peace talks, the official said.
