President of Ashkenazi Jewish Community in Turkey Dies

Isidore Schnitter, president of the Ashkenazi community of Turkey, died here after a lengthy illness. He was 74. For many years Mr. Schnitter was a member of the Lay Council of the Turkish Grand Rabbinate and served as vice-president of the coordinating commission for ten Jewish welfare institutions.
