Prime Minister Ariel Sharon gave Israeli security forces a carte blanche to crack down on Palestinian terror in Gaza. “The Israel Defense Forces and security apparatus have been instructed to take any necessary action, without restriction, to stop terror,” Sharon told his Cabinet on Sunday, following a weekend surge of Gaza Strip violence. “They will continue to do so as long as the Palestinians do not lift a finger.”
