Progress on the “road map” toward Israeli-Palestinian peace will improve America’s image in the Arab world after the war in Iraq, a top Pentagon official said. The overthrow of Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, who paid rewards to the families of Palestinian terrorists, should improve the atmosphere for Israeli-Palestinian negotiations, Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz told a Senate committee.
