Proposals to Liberalize Dp Law Will Get Priority in House Judiciary Committee

Rep. Emanuel Celler, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, announced today that measures to liberalize the present displaced persons law would be first on the list of his committee’s business.

Celler also revealed that Rep. Francis E. Walter, Pennsylvania Democrat and author of a bill to amend the existing DP law, will become chairman of the immigration subcommittee of the Judiciary Committee.
