The prospects for the inclusion of Palestine orange exports in the imperial preference category are excellent, stated today I. Rokach, vice mayor of Tel Aviv who headed the Palestine Delegation which went to the Ottawa imperial conference on the tariff question.
Mr. Rokach, who is the managing director of the Jaffa-Tel Aviv Citrus Exchange, stated that the immediate hope is that the British government will waive the ten percent duty on Palestine oranges imported into England during the season of November to March.
Palestine oranges, he stated, are sold at good prices in Canada and compensation is thus offered for the reduction experienced in some European markets.
