The European Parliament was asked to intervene to try and stop what one deputy said was an anti-Semitic campaign now waged by part of the Greek press.

Roger-Gerard Schwartzenberg, a deputy for the French Radical Party and himself a Jew, asked the Parliament to intercede with the Greek government to see what can be done to stop the hate incitement campaign.

Schwartzenberg said that under the guise of anti-Zionism and criticisms of the Israeli government’s policies, several Greek newspapers are actually spreading anti-Semitism and inciting to racial hatred. He also called on the Parliament to try to obtain the extradition of Nazi war criminal Walter Rauff, believed to be hiding in Chile.
