The delectable Doctor Goebbels, who is proving daily that psychology is a thing of which the Germans are ridiculously ignorant, has now come out with another book to prove that God has definitely decided to make the Germans his chosen people. The astounding propaganda minister is certainly an industrious person and to his industry he manages to add a capacity for self-deception which is passed on to the gullible German people. The book is now published in England and no doubt in America as well. It is an admixture of impudent claims, distorted fact and nauseous hypocrisy and it is written in diary form under the title of “My Part in Germany’s Fight.”

This is the so-called “statesman” who manages successfully to keep the entire German nation in a state of ignorance as to the opinions of the outside world. The English press, for instance, which does not disguise its contempt for the camarilla, is constantly penalized by Goebbels’ orders of suppression. The Times is confiscated at the newsstands today; the Morning post tomorrow, the Daily Express the next day, and the Telegraph thereafter. A goodly number of papers manage to slip through the cordon but the Germans have become listless, like the Russians, and no longer read papers. If they do they merely peruse the official “dope” bulletins which are sent out by authority. Gradually the old and reliable German newspapers are going out of business. Those that remain are not worth looking at.

My friend Lord Rothermere, the principal proprietor of the vastly circulated Daily Mail, has a flair for stepping in to champion causes that are not too popular in England. He made a most heroic attempt to bring Hungary’s claims and aspirations so far to the front as to make them matters of first rate international concern. He did it so effectively in his usual thorough manner that the Hungarians threw hats into the air and even talked of offering him the crown of the monarchy; after which the noble Viscount thought better of it.

Next he discovered Sir Oswald Mosley who had begun to look insecure on his tight rope. The Daily Mail picked up Mosley and boomed him. It looked good for Mosley’s brand of Fascism. Then suddenly, without warning, the Daily Mail’s spotlight was withdrawn from the noble features of the English Fuehrer, and Mosley has once more to rely on police court scenes for his wider publicity.

Next, my lord of Rothermere, quixotic to a degree, goes over to Berlin and finds that Hitler ist der Mann Heaven send soft – voiced, single-minded; that Germany has found her feet, and that Great Britain and Germany must be friends. Why not a raprochement between these two noble peoples? On the same day an English lady, entering a Jewish shop in Frankfurt, was stopped by one of the Hitler supermen on picket duty to ###ent God’s “Aryans” from pol###ing themselves by buying from Jews. The lady paid no attention and the little gentleman spat in her face! That youth stands a good chance of becoming a Storm Troop leader.

Meanwhile, the delectable Doctor Goebbels sends out propaganda messages that Germany is learning to do without the raw material that she cannot buy from abroad owing to the world’s disapproval of her methods. If that were true, it would be quite satisfactory to the rest of the world which does not agree that the German brand of “Aryanism” is of much account, if any.

If and when the adventurers are reposed or see sense, then the world will be glad to readmit poor duped Germany into the circle. Not before.

As for the Jewish question, I fear it cannot be settled without some more application of the screws.
