Rabbi Melbourne Harris of San Francisco was elected rabbi of Congregation Anshei Emeth of this city. Rabbi Harris will assume his duties in Peoria September first. Arthur Lehman is president of the Peoria Congregation.
For the past two years Rabbi Harris was associated with Congregation Emanu-El, San Francisco, as assistant rabbi and director of religious education and activities under Dr. Louis I. Newman, now of New York City, and Rabbi Irving F. Reichert.
