Rabbi Pinhas Teitz of Elizabeth, N.J. a leading Orthodox rabbi, reported he had received a cable of thanks from Rabbi Yehuda Leib Levin of Moscow for a shipment of ritual objects sent to Moscow last month by Rabbi Teitz. Rabbi Teitz arranged for the shipment of nine cartons of prayer shawls, Mezuzot and other items, which were flown from Kennedy Airport on Dec.24 by Aeroflot, the Soviet Airline. Rabbi Teitz said the cable from Rabbi Levin was in Hebrew and declared that “the religious articles you sent me have arrived properly.”
