The election of Dr. Leon Katz, of Passaic, N.J., as president of the Rabbinic Alumni of Yeshiva University was announced here today at the concluding session of the group’s 53rd annual convention.

The convention heard a plea for more formal training for the ministry of all faiths emphasizing counseling techniques. Dr. Morton Seidenfeld, director of psychological services, National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis, told the convention that today a “great deal more stress is being placed upon the role of the counselor, whether he be a theologian, psychologist, or one who is specifically designated as a counselor.”
