Race Bias Hit by Baptists at Berlin Parley

August 8, 1934
See Original Daily Bulletin From This Date

The Fifth Baptist World Congress, now in session here, today went on record as unequivocally condemning anti-Semitism. This attitude was taken after the Congress had spent the entire day in listening to addresses on racialism.

The Congress deplored the long record of ill usage of the Jews and declared that “Jewish persecutions violate the spirit of the teachings of Jesus.”

The members of the Baptist World Alliance were urged to fight racial antagonism or oppressions. Caste was condemned by the Congress as “one of the most insidious civilized sins.”
