Weary from the excitement of a birthday surprise party, Samuel Baron dozed fitfully at the Home of the Daughters of Jacob, 167th street and Findlay avenue, Bronx, yesterday, while he dreamed of the varied experiences which have been his lot during his 106 years.

Reb Samuel—the title is his as the Home’s oldest resident— was born in Wilno, Lithuania, in 1828. A party in honor of his birthday was held Sunday afternoon at the Home, where he has lived for the past three years. The centenarian danced a jig to prove he is still spry and active.
