Thousands of Jewish refugees today registered as volunteers for military service without waiting for conscription provided in decrees, issued yesterday, which impose military obligations upon refugees and “stateless” persons in the event of war.

Newspapers reported that 800,000 francs have been raised for the purchase by aliens of several airplanes to be turned over to the French Government as an expression of readiness to fight for France.
