The District Commissioner of Jerusalem rejected a request of the Orthdox Agudath Israel to hold a festival procession on the occasion of Succoth. The procession was to have been headed by the aged Rabbi Chaim Sonnenfeld.

The Commissioner stated that previously he had refused permission for a Moslem manifestation. It was stated that the government has decided to prohibit manifestations of any kind throughout the country.
