The British film, “Going Gay,” was witheld from German moving picture houses until the English comedian, Arthur Riscoe, swore to an affidavit that he was not Jewish, states the News Chronicle here. The Nazi censor had suspected his looks.
The Viennese film, “A Girl from Vienna,” was likewise barred from Germany, since some of the actors had Jewish grandmothers.
