The Lithuanian authorities have been informed that the German Government has permitted six Jewish lawyers of Koenigsberg, East Prussia, to settle in Memel in order to wind up the affairs of Memel Jews.

Jews remaining in Memel as well as those who left after the German occupation last year will be given an opportunity to liquidate their businesses, it was stated.

Negotiations between Lithuania and Germany with regard to liquidation of enterprises owned by Lithuanian Jews in Memel are now being conducted in Berlin. The property will be sold to Germans, the purchase price to be turned over to the Jews through a Lithuanian-German clearing agreement.
