The remains of Cecar Grusenberg, famous Jewish lawyer who played an important role in the defence of Mendel Beilis, a Jew in the city of Kiev accused by the Czarist regime of killing a Christian boy "for ritual purposes," were brought here from France together with the remains of his wife and were interred today at the old Cemetery here. Beilis’ acquittal was to a great extent due to Grusenberg’s defence which was praised by leading jurists throughout the world.
