Ragheb Bey Nashashibi, mayor of Jerusalem, is expected to be appointed president of the Legislative Council which the Palestine government contemplates inaugurating, the Arab publication, Al Balagh reported today.
Nashashibi will be named vice-president of the council in the event a Briton is named to the presidency, the newspaper declares.
