Louis B. Mayer, vice-president and manager of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, moving picture producers, termed as premature the report current in New York that he was offered by President-elect Hoover the United States Ambassadorship to Turkey.

In a statement to the correspondent of the “Jewish Daily Bulletin,” Mr. Mayer said: “I am not a candidate for any public office of any kind. Even were I a candidate, Mr. Hoover is not yet President and until he takes office, to discuss such a thing would be decidedly premature.”
