Nine rabbis in the Charkov region of Russia have been arrested, charged with sedition, the “Daily Chronicle” reports from Warsaw. It is alleged that the rabbis made contemptuous remarks to Soviet officials who were trying to get them to sign a statement denying the existence of religious persecution in Russia.
