13-Month Year to Be Subject of International Conference (Jewish Daily Bulletin)
A resolution requesting the President of the United States to propose the calling of an international conference for the simplification of the calendar will be introduced by Congressman Stephen G. Porter, Chairman of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs.
Congressman Porter, who advocates the introduction of a thirteen month year in connection with the plan discussed recently in European countries and taken up by a League of Nations committee, believes that the conference may be held during the year 1929 and that the new calendar may be put into effect in 1933 when January 1 will fall on Sunday. The interval, between 1929 and 1933, would be needed for the change.
