Harold Riegelmen was elected chairman of the Advisory Committee of New York Council of the American Friends of the Hebrew University last night at its first meeting at the Harmonie Club. Salmann Schocken, chairman of the university’s executive council, declared: “We laid certain plans which we might rely upon in an emergency. Today that emergency is upon us and we shall carry on with those plans.” Other speakers were Edward N.M. Warburg and Dr. Nathan Ratnoff.
