A member of the American Nazi party, previously involved in anti-Semitic disorders in the Washington. D. C. area, was sentenced to 30 days in Jail and $25 fine here this weekend on charges of disorderly conduct and assault and battery against the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The Nazi, Roy James, of Arlington, Va., is a 24-year-old “Stormtrooper” in George Lincoln Rockwell’s organization. He was convicted of punching and beating the non-resisting Negro minister at a meeting of the integrationist Southern Christian Leadership Conference.
Dr. King did not wish to press charges, but Judge Charles H. Brown insisted on trying James, terming the incident an “uncalled for, unprovoked assault.” James, who said he held the rank of lieutenant in the American Nazi group, arrogantly pleaded guilty and boasted of his Nazi affiliation.
