Roger Cukierman, 63, a banker, was elected president of CRIF, the umbrella group of secular French Jewish organizations. Cukierman replaces Henry Hajdenberg, who is completing his two-year term. Cukierman narrowly won over Roger Benaroch, the first Sephardi candidate to run for the top nonreligious post in a community with a growing Sephardi majority.
