Rome Fails to Mention Tel Aviv Bombing

Italian war bulletins continued today today to make no mention of any bombing of Tel Aviv, speaking only of a raid on Jaffa.

The newspaper Il Messagero said the main objective of the bombardment of Jaffa was to interfere with ship traffic between Jaffa and Egypt. The paper declared the traffic was carried on by small sailing vessels which it would not pay to torpedo, hence it was considered simplest to paralyze the outlet of the port.
