Announcement of a gift of $30,000 by Julius Rosenwald and his son, William, with which to build a library near Luxor, Egypt was made by Prof. James H. Breasted on his arrival here following his return from Egypt.

The building is now under construction, and will be completed by fall. It will be an international workroom for scientists, Prof. Breasted stated. The library will have its own electric light plant, and because of the peculiar harmful activities of animals near there much of the structure will have to be of steel.
