A memorandum setting forth the demands of the Jewish population in the school question and urging the government to keep its promises made during the election campaign was submitted to the Roumanian Ministry of Education by Deputies Ebner and Landau.
The memorandum, which has the support of the Hebrew school society, Tarbuth, urges in particular the reopening of the Jewish teachers’ schools dissolved by the government, the reopening of the Jewish high schools in Czernowitz, Kishineff and Balti, and the establishment of a Jewish teachers’ seminary.
Minister of Education Costachescu promised to inquire into the matter.
