Elimination of Jews and national minorities from Rumanian professional life is demanded in a resolution adopted today at a conference of the Federation of Rumanian Free Professional Associations.

The federation, which comprises trade unions of university professors, doctors, architects, chemists and teachers among others, recommended application of the “ethnic” principle in effecting the desired numerus nullus in the professions.

Leading speaker at the session, including the well-known professors Nurmuzesco, Petrovitch and Manoilescu, expressed the opinion that anti-Jewish measures of the sort asked would be entirely constitutional. They averred that when the constitution speaks of Rumanian citizens, it implies citizens of Rumanian blood.

The resolution also recommended the following:

Establishment of means promoting prosperity of Rumanian “ethnic” elements; transformation of capital invested in Rumania into Rumanian capital by an arrangement between the Government and the National Bank; revision of all naturalizations effected after the World War, when certain territories were annexed to Rumania, and cancellation of all diplomas issued by universities to members of minorities groups after the war.
