Rumanian Schools Seek New Licenses

November 13, 1934
See Original Daily Bulletin From This Date

Jewish trade and artisan schools all over Rumania were today ordered to apply for new licenses to the Ministry of Education, since previous licenses issued by the Ministry of Labor have been invalidated.

The order included the schools maintained by the People’s Ort Federation, despite the fact that the schools were established and maintained by a central Jewish organization which has its headquarters in Paris.

Stricter governmental control of the Jewish trade and artisans schools is indicated by the order, which has aroused anxiety in Jewish circles. It is feared that there will be some difficulty in obtaining new licenses for the schools.
