Grigory Weinstein, well known Russian Jewish merchant and philanthropist, formerly of Odessa, died here today.
The late Mr. Weinstein was the only Jewish member of the Imperial Council during the Czarist regime. During the turbulent years of anti-Jewish pogroms in the Ukraine, which followed the revolution, he liberally contributed toward the maintenance of a Jewish self-defence organization. Recently he was the head of the Grand Moulins of Palestine, the Rothschild flour mills at Haifa.
