Russian President Vladimir Putin sent Jewish New Year’s greetings to the chief rabbis of two Jewish umbrella organizations. Putin’s greetings to the Federation of Jewish Communities of Russia and the Russian Jewish Congress, in which he mentioned the importance of preserving Judaism and keeping interreligious peace, may be an attempt to reconcile these two rival groups.
