Russia’s largest far-right extremist group staged meetings in a dozen Russian towns over the weekend, according to Russian press reports. The meetings of the Russian National Unity group attracted 30 people in St. Petersburg and some 300 uniformed participants in southern Russia’s city of Stavropol, where the organization is believed to have its stronghold. The group, which distinguishes itself with military-styled black uniforms, swastika-like symbols and stiff- armed salutes, created a scandal last year when it tried to hold a national convention in Moscow.
