Sacha Nacht Dead at 76

Sacha Nacht, a former vice-president of the International Association of Psychoanalysis and considered a world authority on this subject, died here at the age of 76. Nacht, who was born in Rumania, studied medicine in France and worked with Sigmund Freud in Vienna in 1926. Many experts considered him to be Freud’s successor.

Nacht established the French Institute of Psychoanalysis which he headed until his death. He served as director of one of France’s largest psychiatric hospitals and published over a dozen scientific works. He was buried last Sunday in the Paris Jewish Cemetery.
