Samuel J. Silberman, business and community leader, was re-elected tonight for his third and final term as president of the Federation of Jewish Philanthropies of New York. He will serve until May, 1969. Salim L. Lewis was re-elected chairman of the board. Mr. Silberman is the 19th president in the 50-year history of the Federation, the nation’s largest group of community sponsored health and welfare organizations. Through its network of 130 affiliated agencies, the Federation serves more than 1,350,000 New Yorkers annually, without regard to faith, race of economic status.
