Merger of the San Diego Federation of Jewish Agencies and the United Jewish Fund of San Diego into a single United Jewish Federation has been approved by the board of the Fund. It must be approved by the Federation and its member agencies before becoming effective.

The action was taken to improve communal service and keep pace with a rapidly expanding Jewish population in San Diego County. The merger agreement was worked out after a year of study and 15 meetings of a special joint merger committee.
